For builders that want to shop their Take Off / Bill of Quantities (BOQ’s) around, we can approach your chosen merchants on your behalf and ask them if they would like to purchase your quote to price the job for you. If they agree, then the client is not charged for the building materials quote and the specified merchant will receive your quote to price up for you, if they decline then the quote will need to be paid for by client. Different factors will determine whether a merchant will accept to purchase a quote or not.
The advantage of being able to shop the same quote around is that you are comparing the same schedule of quantities with each merchant, no variances occur. Usually each merchant will provide their own quote for their client which means every price received from each merchant is priced off completely different schedules and no quote can be compared accurately.
